RYCOR Landscapes on The Block 2024
RYCOR Landscapes was proud to be part of The Block 2024, taking responsibility for the complete external delivery of Maddy and Charlotte’s House 1 on Phillip Island, the home that went on to win The Block 2024.
RYCOR constructed and managed the entire backyard, pool and front yard, coordinating the outdoor works within the demanding timeframe of The Block. The result was a complete landscape that complemented the home’s relaxed coastal character while creating functional spaces for entertaining, recreation and everyday outdoor living.
Creating a Coastal Outdoor Retreat
The expansive backyard was transformed into a series of connected outdoor zones, bringing together the pool, outdoor kitchen and dining area, pizza oven, fire pit, lounge spaces, basketball court, paving, planting and lawn.
Existing established trees were retained where possible, while a considered coastal planting palette helped soften the built elements and provide greater privacy throughout the landscape.
From the backyard and pool through to the front yard, RYCOR managed the landscape construction and coordinated the external works to deliver a cohesive result across the entire property.
Delivering The Block
Constructing a complete landscape for The Block brings a unique set of challenges. With an exceptionally compressed construction program, multiple trades working simultaneously and a fixed reveal deadline, detailed planning, coordination and efficient construction were essential.
RYCOR managed the delivery of the external works for House 1, bringing together the landscape, pool and associated outdoor elements within The Block’s demanding construction schedule.
Following completion of the series, Maddy and Charlotte’s House 1 went on to be crowned the winner of The Block 2024.
The Phillip Island property sold for $3.5 million at auction, securing the sisters the series win and making the project an especially memorable one for the RYCOR team.
